NFL Betting – League Continues Talks With Players Union Tuesday
After months of the two sides going back and forth with one another, it seems as though the National Football League and its players union are finally on the right track towards making things happen. The current collective bargaining agreement expires this March 4th, and if a deal is not in place by that pay per head time then the league’s owners will lock out its players. But a federal mediator met with the two sides for the fourth time in a row on Monday, and members of both teams have admitted that they are finally beginning to make progress. The question now is about whether or not they will be able to strike a deal in enough time.
NFL power agent Drew Rosenhaus took to Twitter last week to discuss just how important it will be to get a deal in place before the expiration date of the current CBA. Although the main sports betting concern throughout these talks has been about ensuring that there is football being played this September, the big steps that are taken along the way to make a successful season happen could be skipped if the sides don’t come to an agreement soon enough. Those factors include contract signings, trades, and offseason workouts, all of which will also be put on hold until a deal is done. Since both sides have agreed to mediation, the likelihood that a deal will get done has increased, although there are no guarantees.
