sam-bradford‘Tis the season for betting on NFL football games and there are a few extremely important games to watch this Christmas weekend. The football betting is heating up as we head towards the playoffs, and some of the league’s top teams are still fighting for their playoff lives.

Sunday – Washington Redskins @ Jacksonville Jaguars (-7)

The Washington Redskins may be suffering from a collective psychosis because just a week after benching quarterback Donovan McNabb, the team made McNabb the focus of next year’s season ticket sales marketing material. Rex Grossman will start this game for the Redskins, and Grossman played a good game against the Dallas Cowboys in week 15. But the Jaguars need this game if they are to have any hope of staying in the playoff hunt, and they have the defense and offense to bring down the Redskins.

Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday – San Francisco 49ers @ St. Louis Rams (-2.5)

The Rams are 6-8 and the 49ers are 5-9, and this game is for first place in the NFC West. The league is probably pulling for the Rams because the Rams at least have a chance at finishing 8-8 and not being a division winner with a losing record. But this will be a hard-hitting game as both teams have aggressive defenses. But the Rams have the upper-hand on offense and that will be enough to take this divisional battle.

Pick: St. Louis Rams

Sunday – New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (-2.5)

The Saints need this game to stay up in the NFC wild card standings and to have a chance at unseating the Falcons as the winners of the NFC South. But the Falcons are just too strong this year and this game may wind up being the torch-passing game the Saints have been trying to avoid all season.

Pick: Atlanta Falcons
