Competition is fierce in a league dominated by sports betting parity, which means like every other year in the NFL, teams will both rise and fall in the standings, while some may stay the same. Three teams that head in to the 2010-11 season with bleak outlooks regarding the coming season, are the St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Buffalo Bills.
The Rams finished a league-worst 1-15 a year ago, replacing the Detroit Lions in the NFL basement, and therefore earning the first overall pick in this year’s draft. While the selection of quarterback Sam Bradford will be deemed a football betting success or failure over time, the immediate future of the organization looks just as bad as it did a year ago. Void of playmakers on both sides of the ball with the exceptions of running back Stephen Jackson and safety O.J. Atogwe, St. Louis will once again be a bottom-feeder in 2010-11.
The Buccaneers won’t be much better, and could be worse than their 3-13 mark from last season. The NFC South has seen a new team take the reigns in the division every year for as long as can be remembered, with the last place team making the jump several times, however this year will be very different, with fans in Florida looking for answers.
Big things were expected from the Bills a year ago, but after an awful 6-10 season, questions at the quarterback position, and the loss of playmakers on both sides of the ball, Buffalo will once again reside in the basement of the AFC East in 2010-11.
